A Unique Joint Venture

The Ten Tenths Motor Club is more than just a racing facility; it’s an all-encompassing automotive experience. The project, which is managed by Speedway Motorsports, will feature the Ten Tenths Circuit, a world-class, lighted road course with multiple configurations for high-performance driving.

In addition, the complex will include the Ten Tenths Clubhouse, a state-of-the-art special event facility, and a members-only garage that offers secure, climate-controlled storage and luxury amenities such as a cigar lounge, bourbon bar, and putting course.

“Our vision for Ten Tenths is to create an experiential destination that can be enjoyed by everyone, from professional race car drivers to high-performance driving enthusiasts and car collectors,” said Marcus Smith, President and CEO of Speedway Motorsports. “It’s the most expansive property development at Charlotte Motor Speedway since zMAX Dragway was built in 2008 and further enhances our commitment to innovation.”

Rick Hendrick, Chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “Ten Tenths will have unparalleled resources and infrastructure to support every customer and organization we work with.

Located just 20 minutes from downtown Charlotte, the complex offers easy access to major thoroughfares and nearby airports. This, combined with a local network of service and collision centers, will provide top-tier vehicle maintenance and repair services for nearly every exotic and high-performance car on the market.”

The Ten Tenths Circuit

At the heart of the Ten Tenths Motor Club is the Ten Tenths Circuit, a multi-purpose, lighted road course designed by former Formula 1 driver and two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Alexander Wurz.

The circuit boasts three distinct configurations to challenge drivers of all skill levels: a seven-turn, 0.567-mile inner loop; a 13-turn, 1.1-mile short course; and a 19-turn, 1.7-mile full circuit. The full course features an impressive 112 feet of elevation change, ensuring that drivers experience a range of dynamic challenges as they navigate the turns.

“The track itself has a natural flow with a lot of ups and downs,” Wurz said. “Every corner of the circuit has a unique character. It wants to be driven fast, offering drivers a truly immersive experience.”

The Ten Tenths Circuit will also feature lighting to allow for three driving sessions each day: morning, afternoon, and evening. This flexibility ensures that enthusiasts can maximize their time on the track, whether they are testing their skills or engaging in driver training.

The Ten Tenths Clubhouse

The Ten Tenths Clubhouse, which is currently under construction, will be a 20,000-square-foot venue designed for corporate retreats, business summits, and special events. Modeled after Turn 11 at Sonoma Raceway, the clubhouse will feature three large hospitality rooms that can be combined to create one expansive event space. It will also have conference rooms equipped with video presentation capabilities and a catering kitchen to accommodate events of up to 1,500 guests.

With its blend of modern amenities and flexible space, the Ten Tenths Clubhouse is expected to become a premier destination for both automotive and non-automotive events in the region.

The facility will provide secure, climate-controlled storage for vehicles, along with luxury lounge areas where members can relax or hold meetings. With convenient access from the garage to the circuit, members will be able to easily enjoy the driving experience on designated event days throughout the year.

In addition to the members’ garage, the Ten Tenths Motor Club will offer unparalleled concierge vehicle maintenance and reconditioning services through Hendrick Automotive Group. With 21 dealerships and five collision centers in the Charlotte area, members will have access to white-glove vehicle support, including pickup and delivery services.

By this time, construction of the Ten Tenths Circuit will be complete, and the finishing touches will be underway for the clubhouse and members’ garage.

Smith emphasized the significance of this joint venture, stating, “For decades, my brothers and I have built not only a business relationship with Rick Hendrick, but also a true friendship. It’s an honor for Speedway Motorsports to partner with him on this project, which will be a centerpiece for the automotive community.”
