Concord Welcomes New Sister City - Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
On Thursday, the Cabarrus Economic Development team hosted delegates from the Grand Bahamas Sister Cities as they kicked off their visit to Concord, North Carolina. During their stay, they will be exploring the city, meeting with elected officials, Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Southern Grace Distillery staff.
The group had the opportunity to meet with our team to learn about the economic efforts happening in Cabarrus County. S&D Coffee & Tea, which is headquartered in Concord, graciously provided our group with a behind the scenes tour of their facility.
The Concord Sister Cities Association announced the addition of Freeport, Grand Bahama Island as its second sister city, which became official on July 10. Concord and its first sister city, Killarney, Ireland, have shared cultural and economic benefits from their association for 20 years. The Sister City relationship means that Concord and Freeport, Grand Bahama Island have set up cultural, business, and educational exchanges.
