Castrodale Accepts New Position; Cabarrus EDC Board Names an Interim

November 27, 2024
Brian Hiatt Named Interim Director

The Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (Cabarrus EDC) has announced that Executive Director Page Castrodale will step down from her position effective December 6, 2024. Castrodale has accepted the role of Senior Director of State Government Affairs for North and South Carolina with Eli Lilly.

Castrodale joined the EDC as Existing Industry Director in 2018 before being promoted to Executive Director in 2020. During her tenure, the EDC announced more than $3 billion in new investment in Cabarrus County and the addition of more than 1000 jobs. The organization assisted with the expansion of numerous existing Cabarrus businesses, launched an Industry Council to support local manufacturers, and recruited Flywheel Coworking to create an entrepreneurial hub in the Cabarrus Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In 2024, her peers recognized her outstanding work as the North Carolina Economic Developers’ Association named her Economic Developer of the Year.

“Working with this team to positively impact the lives of individuals and families in Cabarrus County has been my dream job,” said Castrodale. “I will always be a friend of the EDC, and I’m excited about the future of the organization. At the same time, I’m ready to embrace my next professional challenge.”

Steve Fisher, EDC Board Chair and CEO of F&M Bank, praised Castrodale’s accomplishments. “The Board is deeply grateful for Page’s leadership and the incredible progress made under her tenure. It’s especially fitting that Eli Lilly, a company the EDC successfully brought to Cabarrus County and one that has already made a significant positive impact on our community, is now offering Page this exciting new professional opportunity. We wish her the best and we remain steadfast in our mission to strengthen the local economy and foster job creation for the benefit of all Cabarrus County residents.”

To ensure a smooth transition, the EDC Board has appointed Brian Hiatt, former Concord City Manager, as interim executive director while a search for Castrodale’s successor is conducted. Meanwhile, the EDC team will continue its vital work supporting local businesses and attracting new opportunities.
