S&D Coffee, Inc. has accepted an offer made by the Cott Corporation to be acquired.

Following the completion of the proposed transaction, S&D will be a subsidiary of Cott, still operating under the S&D Coffee & Tea name. Ron Hinson, almost 38 years with the company, will remain President and CEO of S&D, and the management team will assume the same scope and responsibilities. S&D will continue to innovate and deliver the finest quality coffee, tea and liquid extracts with unparalleled service. This new chapter in the storied, 89 year company history will undoubtedly be very exciting as Cott, a global, multi-beverage leader, will enable further development and acceleration of S&D’s successful business model.

The City of Kannapolis has approved an economic development incentive grant to ISE Enterprises, Inc. for investment in a 30,000 square foot facility at 840 Biscayne Drive, Kannapolis. The company has been in Kannapolis since 2004.

Kannapolis, NC-  July 14, 2016-  This month, Ei, A Pharmaceutical Solutionworks™ begins moving a 24-person research and development team, which includes three PhDs and nine Masters level scientists, into a 10,000-square-foot laboratory with office space on the third floor of the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building on the NC Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC.

Why do Cabarrus County and its communities along Interstate 85 have more than 3 million square feet in speculative industrial space proposed or ready for tenants?

The reasons range from location — the Interstate 85 corridor is more widely known for industrial operations than Interstate 77 — to incentives that reward developers for building as well as bringing jobs.

Cabarrus, along with at least two of its cities, Concord and Kannapolis, have incentive programs that encourage developers to build speculative industrial space. Most of York County’s incentives are based only on bringing jobs.

The Board of Directors of the Cabarrus County Economic Development Corporation announced the appointment of Robert (Robby) J. Carney, Jr. as Executive Director effective August 1st.

 Carney has been the Executive Director of the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation since 2010.
