As of February 2019, developers are in the process of grading the site where Meadows Corporate Park will be located. They hope to go vertical with the buildings in the next month if weather permits.

An exciting announcement was made in our community: the former Philip Morris plant (now known as The Grounds at Concord) will be demolished. Bootsmead LeaseCo LLC (Bootsmead), who currently owns the property, issued a release that detailed its plans to tear down the facility in an effort to create a blank slate that will be more appealing to future users.

Cabarrus Economic Development is excited to announce a new industrial development in Concord.  Fortius Capital Partners plans to construct Meadows Corporate Park, which will comprise two multi-tenant, industrial buildings fronting I-85 near Poplar Tent Road.  Through its affiliate, Fortius-Richardson, LLC, the company will deliver approximately $9,900,000 in new tax investment.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) released its 2017-2018 School Performance Grades today. The report includes a variety of data including graduation rates, student proficiency for levels 3, 4, and 5 for EOG and EOC tests, as well as academic growth and school performance grades.

Thirty-two CCS schools met or exceeded academic growth targets for students during the 2017-2018 school year.

Cabarrus Economic Development is excited to announce a new speculative industrial development from Griffin Industrial Realty (“Griffin”). Griffin plans to add two new buildings to its recently rebranded Carolina Tradeport development in Concord, which currently consists of a 100% leased, 277,000 square foot warehouse located at the intersection of Poplar Tent Road and International Drive.  The two new buildings at Carolina Tradeport are expected to generate approximately $12,800,000 in new investment by Griffin.
