TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE

We are in the middle of one of the nation's major transportation centers and the distribution hub for the sixth largest urban region in the United States. Conveniently served by Interstate 85, we are located within 30 minutes of Interstates I-77 and I-40 which offer crucial north/south and east/west access. Several distribution centers call Cabarrus County home, as they take advantage of being within 24 hours of more than 50% of the nation's population and the lower tax rates.

Home to the NASCAR Air Force
The Concord Regional Airport is known as "Home to NASCAR" because of its close proximity (2 miles) to Charlotte Motor Speedway and because so many of the race teams and sponsors utilize the airport and appreciate the easy of use and access to the interstate.
Concord Regional Airport is the #1 busiest non-commercial airport in the state and the fourth busiest overall. CRA averages 200 daily operations. It is also becoming known as the quickest way in and out of Charlotte, especially for corporate travelers. It has a contract FAA tower and a 7,400-feet runway with full instrument approach. In September 2009, the tower personnel were recognized as one of the top airport control towers in customer service, safety, courteousness, and community involvement out of almost 250 current contract airport control towers operating in the United States.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is less than 20 minutes from Cabarrus County. In 2009 the airport was named the 8th busiest in the US. With well over 600 flights per day, CLT has direct/nonstop flights to 178 domestic and international destinations.
